liquid hydrogen is more expensive than oil

what would happen if they keep those rockets on without detach all the way to space?

1- You have really bad grammar.2- NASA shuttles and engines don't use oil. They use liquid Hydrogen and liquid Oxygen which are mixed and ignited to create thrust. The cloud of white smoke from ignition is literally an artificial rain cloud of water. If they used oil, it would be impossible to get the shuttle to space because oil needs oxygen to ignite. It would also be extremely expensive to fund and would be horrible to the environment around it.

You can skydive from the upper atmosphere though. If you look up you would see stars. Thats pretty close. In the 1950s it was done by the government. I dont know why but they did.

@bigbang3214 your talking about Phobos-Grunt? It's not a satellite, it was a probe sent to mars to carry a Chinese Martian orbiter, and a lander to land on Phobos, get samples and return to earth with samples. But in earth orbit after launch the computer went crazy and it turned off. It fell back to earth a month later. Luckily it fell in the pacific ocean. But if it was planned to fall on NY, they'd probably get the he'll outta there!

If you want to die, you'd burn up in the atmosphere :P
