Your work will be destroyed, diluted, and not blessed of God! 2 Chron 20:35-37

Some time later King Jehoshaphat of Judah made an alliance with King Ahaziah of Israel. Together they built a fleet of trading ships at the port of Ezion-geber. Then Eliezer some of Dodavahu from Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat. He said, "Because you have allied yourself with King Ahaziah, the LORD will destroy your work." So the ships met with disaster and never put out to sea. 2 Chronicles 20:35-37 (NLT) This should explain why Paul said don't be unequally w/unbelievers!

nooo jay z song new york is bad he said life begin when the church end he is prophesying the rapture and tribulation. Also, as a christian we are a new creture in christ and not of this world. God want us to be holy in his rightousnes not mimic of the world (satan) . We are in the last days, most so called christian are double minded and leading a way to destruction.

Hell Neechy. My two cents. If the artist and his/her music does not pass the compass test of Phillipians 4:8 than Christians should abstain.

A lot of Christian rappers seem to think so. Some I like, but most are as interested in glorifying themselves as they are glorifying Christ. Others use weak metaphors, in which it is not obvious that they are talking about Christ at all. The more I listen to it, the more I wonder about the integrity of the genre. But I do agree a lot of artists try to lose you in the beat, and then give you some milk when it comes to talking about God. Not enough meat.

he states on a few of his songs how "he aint askin for forgiveness for his sins" and yea i used to go hard on some Jay-Z im talkin bout hard on a few artists...but yea i think im still on the fence about these christian artists that you cant really tell anymore...cuz they are Christian and the message is definitely biblically sound but then the beat make you wanna start poppin? Is there such a thing as poppin it for Jesus? Is there a such thing as "Goin In" but in the name of Jesus?

Doesn't New York State of Mind have a lyric where Jay-Z tells you that Christ can't save you? Why would a Christian want to listen to this?

I love techno music because it makes me feel happy but I also like some music with great lyrics. I don't think it really matters

I am an artist that was charted at the top of my city, and I made a conversion from the secular music world to now doing what I call musical ministries and my personal opinion is like this. If the secular artist wants to collaborate with a Christian artist, or vise versa, I think that the Christian influence should make sure the secular artists heart and mind is in the right place.. there is a lot of evil in music these days and its important that as Christian artists we keep our messages pure. |
