Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch (Oct. 23, 1960 - July 25, 2008) gave his last lecture at the university Sept. 18, 2007, before a packed McConomy Auditorium. In his moving presentation, "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams," Pausch talked about his lessons learned and gave advice to students on how to achieve their own career and personal goals. If he'd accepted Christ on his deathbed it would have changed nothing except his internal struggles. that counts for something but...the ultimate "reality"does not depend on what you believe is...it depends on what is.

hero status? you're kidding right? He was a man who gave a good speech and made lots of money. Why is he a hero? He died without sharing the truth about God with his kids. Nothing heroic about sending people to hell.

Nothing wrong with Atheism, much better than a ridiculous belief in Horus..oops i forgot u call him Jesus. I don't think the fact that he was an atheist diminished his hero status in any way, shape, or form. There isn't anything wrong with being an atheist.
