@ecartman12 No, it took 10 years before James Cameron felt the technology was good enough to make the film. He's had this idea for a long time, he just wanted to make sure the CGI was advanced enough to do it like he imagined.

When was this movie filmed? If the movie took 10 years for the special effects then doesn't that mean that the movie was filmed in the 90's?

amazing movie. I'm watching it right because I haven't watched it before. My daughter has and she said it was good so I just had to watch. it's amazing on how they made it. considering on how far animation has come from the time it started until now........it's a nicely done movie.

I can't believe how real avatar looks. When I was little, I remember my brother saying to my dad "animation is getting so good now. One day it will look so real you won't be able to tell what parts are animated and what parts are real". Avatar is a perfect example of that.
