It is so funny that I ran across this video after watching your 2yr natural hair journey video. Your hair was gorgeous then, and it is uber gorgeous now! You have really inspired me to take better care of my hair. Even though I am not natural, I am so inspired by your growth! Thank you for your vids and keep doing you :)

Kerry, I know you posted this video over a year ago, but I am just now viewing it. THANK YOU for mentioning your negative views about your natural hair without cause. I am newly natural and I have been struggling with getting used to not having long hair and getting used to my natural texture! Your videos are a huge inspiration and I am so happy that you've shared your hair experiences!

You're right about mature or open minded men finding natural attractive. My theory is that is exudes a confidence in not only who you are, but who you are as a Black Woman in this majority society. Lets face it, mainstream is uncomfortable with us, it stereotypes us as bitchy, loud, fat, ugly and unsophisticated. Yet, when you stand firm in your natural state it just makes people angry and uncomfortable. Why? Because its telling society, despite what you say, I love being black, live with it. |
