Elvis said Orbison was the greatest singer ever, I'd tend to agree. His vocal range was at least - at least - one full octave greater than Presley's.

I mean really. Do you read people commenting on Louis Armstrong videos complaining he is playing songs written by someone like Hoagy Carmichael or George Gershwin? Did you great the release of Billie Holliday singing "Summertime" by saying there goes those black musicians, stealing white people songs again?

If we cut out all the performers that were influenced by those who came before, we wouldn't have much left would we? I don't think anyone who knows anything about rock and roll is unaware of from where it came, so what's the point? It's not like those black performers weren't influenced by others before them. Even, gasp, white musicians. Good thing guys like Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Ray Charles, Jimi Hendrix, etc didn't share your views. Their music wouldn't be the same as we know it.
